The Global Arbitration Review 100
January 2008, Global Arbitration Review
Global Arbitration Review identified the world's leading international arbitration law firms and ranked White & Case third among the top 100 firms.
The guide also featured an in-depth article on the Firm's International Arbitration Practice. GAR stated the practice "stands out for its geographic scope" and called it a "force in the global market," mentioning that White & Case has international arbitration practitioners in Paris, London, New York, Washington, DC, Mexico City, Hong Kong and Stockholm.
"We're very cohesive," said Stephen Bond, co-head of White & Case's International Arbitration Practice and partner in the Paris office. "I'm doing a pitch now, for instance, where lawyers from [Washington,] DC are part of the pitch. And I'm on several being done by other offices."
Bond told GAR he believes clients who select White & Case receive more direct attention from the partners. "We, the partners, are very close to the actual work on the case, not just to pitching for it."
In addition to Bond, White & Case International Arbitration partners mentioned in the article include: Christian Seppala and Michael Polkinghorne (Paris), Carolyn Lamm, Abby Cohen Smutny and Jonathan Hamilton (Washington, DC), Paul Friedland (New York), John Bellhouse and Aloke Ray (London), Kim Rooney (Hong Kong), Thomas Heather (Mexico City) and Claes Zettermark (Stockholm).
