Practice Experience
Neal McAliley is a partner in the Firm's Disputes and Environmental practices. Mr. McAliley's areas of practice include environmental litigation, general civil and criminal litigation and regulatory matters before governmental agencies. 

Mr. McAliley advises clients on a wide range of environmental issues, including federal agency permitting, wetland jurisdiction, airport environmental issues, state and federal administrative and civil enforcement proceedings, and the criminal enforcement of federal environmental laws. Mr. McAliley is highly experienced regarding litigation with federal agencies under NEPA, the Endangered Species Act and related federal environmental statutes. Among Mr. McAliley's environmental litigation experience are cases related to federal agency compliance with NEPA and other laws in the initiation of new projects and the issuance of federal permits; regulatory matters concerning the importation of seafood; wetland permitting and enforcement; water quality and regulatory issues related to agricultural land use; regulation of activities on federal lands and issues related to water pollution from oceangoing vessels.

Mr. McAliley also handles general commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense matters. He has conducted internal investigations for multinational companies; represented parties in SEC proceedings; represented developers and home builders in contract, real estate, and construction litigation; defended clients in a range of industries against claims by regulatory agencies; defended against class actions; handled matters related to the importation of food products to the United States; and represented clients in trusts and estates litigation. Mr. McAliley also conducts internal regulatory compliance audits for clients.
