Practice Experience
Ola Nilsson concentrates on Swedish and international commercial arbitrations, including M&A and banking and finance disputes.
Ola acts as counsel in commercial litigation, including banking and finance disputes.
Ola also sits as arbitrator.
Prior to joining White & Case, Ola was an associate with another major Swedish law firm (including a one-year secondment in Paris, France), a junior judge at the Court of Appeals and a court clerk at Malmö City Court.
His recent experience includes, inter alia:
- Acting as counsel for one of the largest global companies in the telecommunications sector in an international ICC arbitration in Stockholm regarding claims under a supply agreement. The dispute was conducted in English.
- Acting as counsel for a major insurance company in the Nordic Region in a SCC multi-party arbitration in Stockholm regarding claims under a shareholders’ agreement.
- Acting as counsel for a leading European bank in a SCC arbitration in Stockholm regarding claims for damages for providing alleged negligent investment advice to an institutional investor.
- Acting as counsel for a Global pharmaceutical company in a SCC arbitration in Stockholm regarding claims under a distribution agreement. The dispute was conducted in English.
- Acting as counsel for private equity investors in a SCC arbitration in Stockholm regarding warranty claims under a share purchase agreement.
- Acting as counsel for one of the largest banks in the Nordic Region in litigation regarding claims for breach of contract of a credit overdraft facility.
- Serving as sole arbitrator in a SCC arbitration regarding claims under an asset purchase agreement.
- Acting as counsel for European power supply distributors in an international ad hoc multi-party arbitration in Stockholm regarding claims for defects under construction contracts.
- Acting as counsel for a Global railroad car manufacturer in an international ad hoc arbitration in Stockholm regarding claims for defects under a purchase agreement.
- Acting as counsel for a European satellite communications company in a SCC arbitration regarding claims under outsourcing contracts.
- Acting as counsel for a Swedish shipping company in an international dispute regarding claims under a time charter party.
