Overview

Amy Yang is counsel in the Mergers and Acquisitions practice group. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, general corporate, foreign direct investment, employment, regulatory matters and private equity.

Amy has more than fifteen years' experience in advising multinational companies in the area of China inbound investment, including asset and equity acquisitions, green-field investment, joint ventures, divestitures and other corporate restructuring. Amy has advised clients from a wide range of industries with their acquisitions and investments in China, such as auto, chemical, food, health care, paper, computer software, equipment and hotel management.

In addition, Amy has extensive experience in the regulatory and compliance matters with respect to investment and operation in China, including incorporation, permits and licenses, employment, environment, foreign exchange and real estate.

Experience

Amy's experience includes advising:

Saudi Aramco on its heads of agreement with China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) to build a refinery and petrochemical project in Gulei in China's southeastern Fujian Province. The greenfield project comprises a 16 million metric tonne per year (320,000 barrels per day) refining and petrochemical facility with a 1.5 million metric tonne per year ethylene unit. The project is expected to commence commercial operations in 2025.

Representation of Quad-C Management Inc., a leading middle market private equity firm, in its acquisition of QED Technologies International, Inc. from Entegris, Inc. (NASDAQ: ENTG), a leading supplier of advanced materials and process solutions for the semiconductor and other high-technology industries.

Magna International Inc., a leading automotive manufacturer and supplier, on its acquisition of a majority stake in HLZX Group, a leading automotive seats supplier in China.

Nestlé Waters, the no.1 bottled water company worldwide, on the sale of its water business in the mainland China to Tsingtao Brewery Group Company Limited, China’s second-largest beer maker.

Magna Steyr, an international automotive contract manufacturer, in its joint ventures with Beijing Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd.

Grupo Bimbo, an international bakery headquartered in Mexico, in its acquisition of Mankattan Group's bakery business in China.

IHI Corporation, a Japanese industrial group listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, in the sale of its small-block diesel engine business to Caterpillar Inc.
