Overview

Sabine Schulte-Beckhausen advises energy utilities, grid operators, energy producers, industrial clients, financial institutes and investors, as well as the public sector on energy regulatory issues and energy contracts and is regularly involved in M&A transactions and energy projects in the power and gas sector.

She has broad experience regarding all parts of the value chain in the energy sector. This especially comprises advice on energy trading, renewable energy and grid regulation. Recently, she has been focusing on the legal framework for the German "Energiewende"(e.g. energy storage projects).

Before joining White & Case, Sabine served as a consultant for EU relations and energy trading with the German Association of Municipal Utilities (1994–2001), and having experience in the energy sector in the Sal. Oppenheim’s investment banking department (2001–2008).

Sabine is a lecturer for energy law at the University of Applied Sciences HRW in Muelheim/Ruhr.

Experience

Advising a bank consortium under the lead of Deutschen Bank, J.P. Morgan and Citigroup on the IPO of the Hamburg based wind power plant manufacturer Senvion. The Emission comprised partial sale of Centerbridge Capital Partners and Arpwood Partners shares. The shares were disposed in regards to a private placement to institutional investors obtaining a total proceed of EUR 294 million, including over-allotments.

Advising a consortium led by Deutsche Bank AG and J.P. Morgan on the complex €1.5 billion leveraged buyout of Senvion SE by Centerbridge Capital Partners.

Advising the consortium of banks as to the capital increase of EnBW AG (€822 million).

Advising Vattenfall Europe on the divestiture of the high-voltage transmission grid 50Hertz to Elia.
