Biography

Overview

Markus is a debt finance and capital markets lawyer focusing on leveraged finance transactions.

He represents banks and other financial institutions, private equity investors and corporates in respect of complex cross-border finance transactions. He has a broad range of experience in acquisition financings, corporate loans, syndications and bank/bond financings (including high yield). His expertise also covers the acquisition and sale of non-performing loan portfolios, structured finance, real estate finance and project finance.

Before joining the firm in 2020, Markus worked over four years for another international law firm in its Frankfurt and New York offices. Prior to that, Markus worked in the legal teams of a leading international bank and of leading international development bank.

Advised Stabilus S.E. and its subsidiaries (Stabilus Group), one of the world's leading suppliers of motion control solutions for a wide range of industries, on a new long term financing with €450 million credit facilities.

Advised Deutsche Lufthansa AG on a €2 billion revolving credit facility.

Advised Ardian on the sale of SCHWIND eye-tech-solutions GmbH to private equity company Adagia Partners.

Advised Adler Real Estate Group on the sale of 14,400 residential and commercial units to international investment company KKR and German real estate specialist Velero.
