Overview

Melissa Taylormoore is a partner in White & Case’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. She is a seasoned government contracts attorney and litigator with more than 15 years of experience helping clients navigate the diverse statutes and regulations that govern companies providing goods and services to federal, state, and local agencies.

In this capacity, Melissa’s practice focuses on the complete life cycle of issues facing government contractors, from developing the required compliance infrastructure mandated by the Department of Justice and resolving matters with regulators such as the Defense Contract Audit Agency; to litigating contract disputes, employment matters, and claims under the False Claims Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and the UK Bribery Act. In addition, Melissa advises government contractors on a range of transactions, including acquisitions and sales.

Melissa also has deep experience counseling boards of directors and executive management teams through systemic and cross-border investigations spanning a wide spectrum of subjects, including corporate governance, bias, harassment, discrimination, misconduct, fraud, and human trafficking.

Prior to returning to private practice, Melissa was the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer for a large United States defense contractor.  In this role, she advised the board of directors on all strategic decisions, was the architect for the company’s compliance program, managed its domestic and international litigation portfolio, and led the company’s response to all major incidents, including cyber-attacks and data spills.  Prior to her in-house role, Melissa was a partner at a large firm in the Metropolitan D.C. area.
