Rodrigo joined the Mexico City office in 2014, and is a member of the Americas M&A and Corporate Practice Group. Rodrigo has counseled multinational and Mexican companies in domestic and cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, corporate restructures and financing projects, infrastructures projects, corporate finance, real estate, franchising and distribution agreements, corporate governance and compliance matters and public bids.
Rodrigo has led numerous cross-border transactions, representing multinational and Mexican entities in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, steel, transportation, real estate, infrastructure and energy, automotive, tire and rubber, mining, food, entertainment, and tourism development and the construction of luxury complexes centers, as well as clients in the application process to obtain authorization by the Mexican National Banking and Securities Commission (Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores) to be organized and operate as multiple banking institutions in Mexico.
Rodrigo has successfully completed graduate courses and seminars on Contracts and International Transactions, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Corporate Governance and Sanitary and Health Law.
Prior to joining White & Case, Rodrigo served as an associate in a prestigious law firm in Mexico City and as in-house counsel for an international pharmaceutical company.
Rodrigo has also been elected and served as Secretary of the Pharmaceutical Company's Ethics and Compliance Committee.
Rodrigo has represented on a Pro bono basis for several Non-Profit Organizations.
Rodrigo represented this global private equity fund specializing in alternative investment strategies in its investment in EnerAll Master, a company engaged in the acquisition of unproductive agricultural land and its transformation into arable and productive agricultural land for the production of crops.
Rodrigo represented Fideicomiso Irrevocable F/0854 (Fibra Shop), a Mexican real estate investment trust (fideicomiso de inversión en bienes raices, FIBRA), in the acquisition of the shopping mall center known as "Cruz del Sur", a power center located in the State of Puebla with surface are of 24,075 square meters and a gross leasable area "GLA" of 12,400 square meters (total GLA of shopping mall center, 29,900 square meters). The value of the transaction is approximately MX$519'000,000.00.
Rodrigo was part of the White & Case international team which represented Panasonic Corporation in the US$1.545 billion acquisition of a stake in Hussmann Corporation, a Missouri-based manufacturer of refrigerated display cases and systems, from Clayton, Dubilier and Rice LLC, representative company of Hussmann Parent Inc.'s shareholders.
