Overview

Ryan Tou is a Partner in White & Case's Capital Markets practice, based in Hong Kong. 

Ryan is a corporate finance specialist with over a decade of experience advising issuers and underwriters on capital markets transactions and securities, corporate and governance matters. He has worked on a number of the most significant and complicated capital markets transactions in Hong Kong, including initial public offerings, block trades and private placements. He also advises listed issuers and directors on M&A, listing rules compliance and regulatory investigations.

Ryan is recognised in LexisNexis' 40 Under 40 2023. Prior to joining White & Case, he had worked at a Magic Circle firm and a major US firm in Hong Kong.

  • CITIC Securities and ABCI Capital as the joint sponsors on the global offering and listing of LC Logistics on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.*
  • CMBI, HSBC and UBS as the joint sponsors on the first proposed de-SPAC transaction in Hong Kong, involving the business combination of Aquila Acquisition Corporation and ZG Group.*
  • Huatai and other underwriters on Zhejiang Supcon Technology Company's global depository receipts offering and listing on the SIX Swiss Exchange.*
  • Zhejiang HangKe Technology Incorporated Company on its global depository receipts offering and listing on the SIX Swiss Exchange, with CITIC Securities and Huatai acting as the joint global coordinators (ALB's Equity Deal of the Year).*
  • Goldman Sachs, UBS, Huatai and CLSA and other bookrunners in the offering of GDRs by China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. and admission to trading on the Shanghai London Stock Connect Segment of the London Stock Exchange.*
  • CLSA as sole sponsor on the global offering and listing of Scholar Education on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.*
  • Xiaomi Corporation in its US$4.72 billion IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (ALB's Equity Deal of the Year).*
  • China Education Group Holdings Limited in its global offering and listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This was, at the time, the largest IPO in the education sector in Hong Kong.*
  • MassMutual International LLC (United States) in its US$1.7 billion sale of MassMutual Asia Ltd. (Hong Kong) to an investor group including Yunfeng Financial Group Limited (Hong Kong).*
  • Guangdong Kanghua Healthcare Co., Ltd. (operator of the largest private hospital in the PRC) in its global offering and listing of H shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.*
