Overview

Taylor Akerblom is a litigation associate in the Firm's Commercial Litigation Practice. He represents clients from a wide range of industries in complex, high-stakes litigation.

Taylor has represented clients in a variety of contentious matters at jury and non-jury trials, appeals, binding arbitration, and mediation. His experience includes a broad range of disputes, including consumer class actions, contract disputes, business torts, bankruptcy actions, trust and probate claims, and employment claims. Taylor zealously advocates for his clients and has achieved significant results that further their business interests.

Taylor is also committed to pro bono work and has represented individuals and non-profits in matters involving racial and gender equality, education reform, sentencing reform, and ending child-marriage in the United States.

Commercial Litigation

Represented a technology company in appellate action involving a novel legal issue concerning the scope of arbitrators' authority to compel non-parties to respond to discovery. Obtained reversal of two adverse superior court orders in opinion certified for publication with significant impact on discovery procedure in California arbitrations.

Represented a telecommunications company in post jury trial motion practice after replacing trial counsel. Obtained judgment notwithstanding the verdict in favor of client overturning significant damages awarded by the jury to the plaintiff. Affirmed on appeal.
