Climate change poses serious risks for the global environment but presents new opportunities as well. Significant economic benefits will accrue as the energy paradigm shifts from a system based on a low cost of carbon and ever-increasing demand for electric power to one of high carbon costs and the need to more efficiently manage energy consumption.
