Snapshot: Middle Eastern Affinity Group

Story

1 min read

A core principle of White & Case’s Middle Eastern Affinity Group is to welcome lawyers and staff of varied backgrounds and beliefs who are interested in the business, legal practice and culture of the region.

Raymond Azar, a member of the Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance section, chairs our Middle Eastern Affinity Group. The group, originally started in New York, now encompasses other White & Case offices in the Americas and intends to expand to our offices in Abu Dhabi, Ankara, Dubai, Doha, Istanbul and Riyadh, with a worldwide focus on professional growth and personal connections.

Relatively new, the Middle Eastern Affinity Group has met in person and by video conference for cultural and social activities. The group's mission and goals are to share experiences, build professional networks, foster personal connections and enhance professional development.

The Middle Eastern Affinity Group defines the region broadly to include individuals from all MENA countries (including Turkey and Israel), and is open to all natives of the region and to practitioners with an interest in the region alike. In addition to current lawyers and staff, the group includes several White & Case alumni as well.

Given White & Case’s extensive operations in the Middle East and its key clients based in the region, the Middle Eastern Affinity Group also plans to support the Firm’s business objectives and provide a sense of community for those with Middle Eastern language skills and experience in the region.
