Practice Experience
Mr. Kampfner has practiced in the bankruptcy/insolvency area since his graduation from Stanford Law School in 1995, and has represented an array of debtors, creditors and other interested parties. Mr. Kampfner’s representation has included Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., as agent for itself and certain other secured lenders in the bankruptcy proceedings of Guy F. Atkinson Company and Leasing Solutions, Inc., McKesson Corporation as a secured creditor in the bankruptcy proceedings of Drug Emporium, Inc., Horizon Pharmacies, Inc. and Snyder’s Drug Stores, Inc., and the City of Palo Alto in the Pacific Gas & Electric bankruptcy proceedings. Creditors committee representations include the Official Committee of Tort Claimants of Dow Corning, Inc., the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of SGL Carbon, Inc. and the Official Committee of Creditors of Commerce One, Inc. Mr. Kampfner also represented various lenders in the bankruptcy proceedings of Atlas Air, Inc.
Mr. Kampfner has also advised clients purchasing assets from debtors in chapter 11 proceedings, including SYNNEX Information Technologies, Inc., in its acquisition of License Online, Inc. and Yipes Enterprise Services, Inc., in its acquisition of Yipes Communications, Inc.
Mr. Kampfner has also represented numerous chapter 11 debtors including, Mirant Corporation, in one of the largest bankruptcies filed in 2003, iBeam Broadcasting Corporation and Family Wonder Holdings, Inc. Mr. Kampfner also represented Philippine Airlines in an ancillary proceeding under 11 U.S.C. § 304.
Mr. Kampfner has also represented debtors and creditors outside of formal insolvency proceedings, including Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Rabobank Nederland and ABN Amro Bank on the creditor side, and Whisper Communications, Inc. and Wine.com on the debtor side.
