Practice Experience
Mrs. Chin's is a partner in the Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance Group. Her practice involves corporate and commercial financing with an emphasis on asset-based financing transactions.

In the areas of project financing and leveraged leases, Mrs. Chin has represented lenders, lessees, lessors and equity investors in leases involving aircraft, oil-drilling equipment, satellites and other equipment and in projects involving cogeneration, waste-to-energy, alternative energy, hydroelectric and manufacturing facilities.

Mrs. Chin also has extensive experience in asset securitizations and has advised issuers, investors, placement agents, credit enhancers and fiduciaries in connection with the securitizations of aircraft, microfinance loans, project loans, credit cards, auto receivables, equipment and real estate leases and other assets.

She has handled a variety of other corporate matters including debt private placements, 144A offerings, letters of credit, high yield bond deals, corporate and partnership organizations, reorganizations and asset acquisitions.

Among the structured finance transactions in which Mrs. Chin has participated are:
  • US$340 million securitization of interests in project finance loans representing the financial guaranty insurer.
  • Aviation Capital Group's acquisition of Boullioun Aviation and its subsequent US$1.8 billion securitization of 74 aircraft leased to 45 lessees in 28 countries.
  • Carlisle Lease International's loan and lease financings secured by refrigerated shipping containers and related lease receivables including a US$600 million securitization.
  • Leveraged lease financings of solar energy electric generating facilities, geothermal generating facilities, headquarters facilities, manufacturing facilities and equipment, fiber-optic telecommunications segments, microwave telecommunications equipment and satellites.
  • Lease financings involving French credit bail, municipal debt and undivided interests.

As Corporate Administrative Partner at White & Case, Mrs. Chin supervised the reorganization of the Corporate Department in the New York office and the development of an intensive training program for attorneys. She is also a frequent speaker at seminars on the UCC, legal opinions, ethics and various other corporate finance topics.

Mrs. Chin was also an adjunct associate professor at Fordham University School of Law and served as a law clerk to Hon. Lawrence W. Pierce in the Southern District of New York.
