White & Case LLP Names 24 New Partners

New York, January 6, 2006 ... Global law firm White & Case LLP has named 24 partners effective January 1, 2006.

Wall, Managing Partner of White & Case.  "In deciding each year whom we should promote to partner, we consider a wide variety of factors, with an emphasis placed on superior legal skills and a demonstrated commitment not only to the success of White & Case, but also to the success of our clients.  We congratulate our latest group of partners."

The new partners, and their respective offices, are:
  • Brussels
    James Killick counsels on a broad range of European law issues including antitrust, anti-dumping, pharmaceuticals, state aid and employment.  He has particular expertise in litigation and has been involved in a number of major cases in the European Courts in Luxembourg.

    Jacquelyn MacLennan, who was formerly a Firm partner before taking a leave of absence, practices EU law, concentrating on competition, trade law and EU internal market regulatory issues.
  • Hong Kong
    Joshua M. Zimmerman
    is a New York-admitted capital markets lawyer who advises investment banks and issuers throughout Asia on cross-border securities transactions, including high-yield and sovereign debt offerings, initial public offerings and privatizations.
  • Istanbul
    Meltem Uslu Akol advises on M&A, privatizations, project finance, Turkish telecommunications and real estate development law matters.
  • London
    Barbara Choi concentrates on banking matters with an emphasis on acquisition financing and restructurings for investment banks and multinationals.

    Rob Mathews concentrates on multinational corporate and leveraged finance transactions, with particular emphasis on high-yield debt offerings.

    Stuart Matty has extensive experience working on securities transactions, including Eurobonds, exchangeable and convertible bonds, GDRs, structured finance projects and MTN programs, particularly for cross-border emerging market transactions.

    Aloke Ray advises on international arbitration matters, representing clients from various sectors principally under the Rules of the International Chamber of Commerce, the London Court of International Arbitration and the American Arbitration Association.

    Matthias Schemuth has substantial experience advising on international cross-border banking, asset, trade finance and project financings in emerging markets, with a particular emphasis on the oil, gas, mining and metal sectors.

    Allan Taylor has extensive experience in UK and international M&A, equity capital markets, joint ventures and private equity transactions.  He also advises on UK corporate governance matters.

    Chris Utting advises sponsors, governments and lenders in a wide variety of industries on all types of financing including project finance, export credit agencies and corporate lending.
  • Miami
    T. Neal McAliley is a litigator who focuses on environmental cases.

    Steven J. Vainder advises on the acquisition, disposition, ownership, use, development, financing, leasing and sale of residential and commercial real estate, including condominium law, mortgage law, construction lien law and general corporate law.

    Carlos Viana counsels on a broad range of cross-border finance and corporate transactions, including structured and project finance, joint ventures and M&A, with an emphasis on investments in, or by, companies doing business in Latin America or Spain. 
  • Moscow
    Irina Dmitrieva heads White & Case's tax practice in Moscow, where she focuses on tax structuring of direct investments, M&A and cross-border and domestic real estate and leasing projects.
  • New York
    Paul B. Carberry is a litigator focusing on commercial disputes, securities, antitrust, RICO and fraud, multi-forum and complex litigation, bankruptcy and class actions.

    Adam Chernichaw has a diverse transactional IP practice with a focus on business process and IT outsourcing and software licensing and development.  He also advises on technology licensing, sports marketing and promotion and Internet, media, publishing and trademark licensing.

    Adam Gahtan is a litigator who focuses on intellectual property matters, with particular emphases on patent litigation and appeals in the pharmaceutical industry and copyright litigation and counseling.

    Andrew W. Hammond focuses on IP and litigation matters, including contract, securities, antitrust, copyright and trademark cases.  He has practiced before various state and federal courts and domestic and international arbitral tribunals.

    Daniel M. Latham represents corporate clients, private equity funds, commercial banks and their private equity affiliates in M&A matters, debt and equity restructurings, strategic dispositions and private equity co-investments.

    David Thatch concentrates on securitization and structured finance transactions.  He represents issuers, underwriters, investment managers and monoline insurance companies in collateralized debt obligation transactions and other asset-backed securities matters.
  • Paris
    Brice Engel advises on M&A and real estate law, with an emphasis on institutional investors in domestic and cross-border portfolio acquisitions.

    Nicolas Huet concentrates on M&A, with a particular emphasis on private equity transactions.
  • Stockholm
    Anders Reldén focuses on Swedish and international arbitration and litigation proceedings, particularly for the construction industry.
