White & Case Scores Big in PLC Which Lawyer? Rankings
Annual Yearbook Calls Firm "Synonymous with Excellence"
February 23, 2006 ... Twenty-one lawyers from White & Case LLP have been ranked at the top in their field, and another 133 were named as highly recommended or recommended according the 2006 edition of PLC Which Lawyer? Yearbook.
All total, 154 White & Case lawyers were recognized for their outstanding ability and knowledge of their practice area, and in some cases ranked in more than one practice.
In addition, seven White & Case practices were designated "Global Areas of Excellence," including Corporate/M&A, Dispute Resolution, Energy, Finance: Banking and Debt Finance, Private Equity/Venture Capital, Restructuring and Insolvency, and Tax, cited by PLC for having received the highest level of achievement and most recommendations.
In New York where White & Case is headquartered, 11 practices were recognized, including Banking, Competition/Antitrust, Corporate M&A, Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property, Labor and Employee Benefits, Private Equity, Project Finance, Restructuring, Structured Finance, and Tax.
In its editorial profile of the Firm, PLC said, "White & Case is a dominant force in the major markets of Europe, North America and Asia, and boasts an unrivalled multi-jurisdictional expertise in a large number of developing and emerging countries. In compiling this year's rankings, UK-based PLC Which Lawyer? (formerly Global Counsel 3000) solicited feedback from clients and in-house counsel at 5,000 companies worldwide. It also conducted interviews with private practice lawyers to determine which law firms had the strongest practices and lawyers.
White & Case has also been nominated as a finalist for four PLC Which Lawyer? Law Firms Awards, including Best Firm in North America, Best Firm in Latin America, Best Firm in Central & Eastern Europe and International Firm of the Year. The awards will be announced in April-June issue of PLC Cross-border Quarterly.
