Ms. Basgoz is a member of the Executive Committee of White & Case LLP.  Her practice involves a wide range of corporate and financial transactions. Ms. Basgoz has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, privatizations and joint ventures, particularly in cross-border transactions for multinational and Turkish clients and in sectors including banking and financial services, telecommunications and media, manufacturing services and tourism. She also represents both Turkish and multinational clients in private equity transactions.

Recent matters include the representation of:

• OMV Aktiengesellschaft in the acquisition of 34%  of Petrol Ofisi A.S. (POAS) from Doğan Holding for a consideration of $1.054 billion. POAS is Turkey's  largest refined oil products distribution company with net sales  of $8.8 billion in 2005.           
• GE Consumer Finance in the (i) acquisition of 25.5% of the shares of Turkiye Garanti Bankasi A.S., a publicly traded Turkish bank owned by the Dogus group for approximately $1.55 billion and 49.2% of the founders' shares for $250 million and (ii) the subsequent mandatory tender offer.             
• Global Equities Management S.A. with the due diligence, preparation for bidding for Turk Telekom including commenting on the share transfer agreements and shareholders agreements, initial work for financing the bid.              
• Orascom with the bidding for Telsim, Turkey's second biggest GSM company, taken over by the Savings Depositary Insurance Fund.               
• Mittal Steel in its proposed acquisition of approximately 46% of Erdemir, Turkey's biggest iron and steel manufacturer.             
• Liberty International in the bid to purchase Başak Sigorta A.Ş. and Başak Emeklilik A.Ş. from the Privatization Administration of the Republic of Turkey.
