Adrian is a finance partner based in the London office. He has a broad background in international finance and has advised financial institutions, companies and individuals on a range of lending transactions. Adrian currently specialises in international asset finance and leasing transactions, with a particular emphasis on the aviation industry. His transaction experience in this area for commercial aircraft includes export credit agency-supported financings, operating lease financings, tax-based leasing structures, secured debt financings and securitizations. Adrian also has experience of acting for owners in the purchase, financing and operation of private jets.

Adrian has represented banks, leasing companies and operators/owners, and has recently acted for CIT Group, the European ECAs, Jackson Square Aviation, Babcock & Brown and the Thomas Cook Group, amongst others.

Prior to joining White & Case, Adrian worked at Wilde Sapte and Weil, Gotshal & Manges, and has also spent time on secondment with one of the largest aircraft operating lessor companies.

Examples of transaction experience in the commercial aviation sector include:

• Representation of Jackson Square Aviation in connection with the sale and leaseback of various aircraft operated by easyJet, TUI Travel, Emirates and Monarch Airlines;
• Representation of Euler Hermes as "fronting ECA" in the ECA-supported financing of seven Airbus A320 family aircraft to be operated by Cebu Pacific;
• Representation of the Thomas Cook Group in connection with various sale and leaseback arrangements (aircraft and engines), operating leases, disposals, tax lease restructurings/unwind arrangements and subleasing arrangements;
• Representation of the banks and the ECAs in connection with the ECA-supported lease financing of twelve Airbus A320 family aircraft for CSA Czech Airlines;
• Representation of Aeroflot in connection with the pre-delivery financing of seven Airbus A321 aircraft and the ECA-supported long-term financing of the aircraft;
• Representation of the originator in connection with a securitization involving the sale of over thirty aircraft in more than 20 jurisdictions and the novation of the underlying lease arrangements;
• Representation of the banks and the ECAs in connection with the ECA-supported financing of five Airbus aircraft for China Eastern Airlines; and
• Representation of Vietnam Airlines in connection with the ECA-supported financing of three A321 Airbus aircraft.

Examples of transaction experience in the private jet sector include:

• Acting for the owner in connection with the purchase and financing of a Gulfstream IV jet utilising a debt financing arrangement, including advising on the ownership and operating structure;
• Acting for the owner in connection with the purchase, financing and subsequent sale of an Airbus A318 Elite jet; and
• Representing a Turkish financial investments company in the purchase of a new Gulfstream G450 jet

Examples of transaction experience in the wider transportation and project finance sectors include:

• Representation of the lessor in connection with the UK tax lease financing of an inner-city tram system in conjunction with a project financing facility;
• Advising the commercial bank syndicate in the financing of an integrated exploration and production oil and LNG project in Russia;
• Representation of the lessor in connection with the UK tax lease financing of a communications satellite; and
• Representation of lenders in connection with the financing of various vessels (including LNG and container vessels and oil tankers) and related chartering arrangements
