Alvaro Garza-Galvan joined White & Case in 2004. Mr. Garza-Galvan specializes in corporate and banking transactions and securities.
From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Garza-Galvan worked in the New York office of White & Case, where his practice was focused on advising and representing clients in connection with Mexican and Latin American corporate and financial transactions, securities laws, financing transactions, and corporate restructurings. Providing legal advice to clients with respect to Latin American financing matters and other corporate affairs, as well as the required structuring to ensure successful implementation. Analyzing and performing legal research on complex Latin American and Mexican law issues, prepare legal memoranda and opinion letters, as well as draft and review sophisticated corporate and financial documents relating to corporate law and financing transactions.
During his time at the New York office, Mr. Garza-Galvan also participated in leveraged finance transactions, debt restructurings and acquisition financings, as well as representing private equity funds and companies in financing transactions in Latin America. He also advised clients with respect to liability management transactions, including exchange offers, debt tenders and consent solicitations.
His practice also includes providing advice as to a wide variety of complex corporate and finance transactions in Latin America and Europe. Representing non-US issuers, underwriters and other participants in the full range of securities transactions, including US registered public offerings, US offerings, private placements and offerings outside the US.
From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Garza-Galvan worked in the Mexico City Office of White & Case, where his practice focused on corporate, banking and financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, project finance, bank regulation matters, settlement systems, corporate debt restructurings and representing foreign and domestic clients in the private and public sectors.
In addition, Mr. Garza-Galvan has acted as special counsel for governmental entities in the drafting process of diverse laws and regulations for the banking and financial sectors.
Before joining White & Case, Mr. Garza-Galvan worked at a well regarded boutique law firm, focused primarily on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and corporate regulation matters. Mr. Garza-Galvan also participated in the privatization of the largest Mexican insurance company.
