Practice Experience
Alison Weal is in the Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance Group of White & Case’s London office. Alison has particular experience in the field of asset finance where she has acted for financiers, borrowers and lessees and leasing arrangements principally in the aviation sector but also in the shipping and rail sectors.
Transactions on which Alison has worked include:
- Acting for international financial institutions in respect of debt-financing transactions relating to aircraft on both finance and operating leases;
- Acting for a Malasian financial institution in respect of sharia-compliant financings with a Malasian airline and subsequent arrangements relating to a Sukuk issue;
- Negotiating servicing and management agreements in relation to debt financings;
- Acting for export credit agencies in respect of various aircraft financing arrangements;
- Acting for a financial institution in respect of a portfolio of debt financings in respect of aircraft on operating leases, both refinancings and new deliveries;
- Advising on English law aspects of various aircraft securitisations;
- Acting for a financial institution in relation to various debt financings including in respect of an aircraft purchased by the relevant borrower and to be converted from passenger to freighter aircraft and various portfolio deals;
- Acting for UK airlines in respect of the leasing and debt-financing of aircraft; and
- Acting for aircraft operating lessors in respect of the preparation and review of operating leases and aircraft sale and lease novation documentation.
