Mr. Aleš Zídek's practice involves mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, with a particular emphasis on the energy and telecommunications sectors, private equity,  international taxation, and general Czech corporate and personal tax consultancy.

Mr. Zídek has been involved with and has represented major energy companies in unbundling and compliance transactions.

Mr. Zídek has advised on the tax aspects of financial transactions involving primary issues of securities, inter-company financing structures with international aspects, particularly Dutch, and structuring, and licensing within international groups of companies.

Mr. Zídek has represented private equity funds in structuring their investments and exits in companies in the CEE region, and has extensive experience in structuring LBO deals in the CEE region, as well as conducting tax due diligence investigations of target companies.   Mr. Zídek has also advised in the area of the taxation of individuals in various investment situations, in particular, in connection with private equity transactions, and is actively involved in providing professional tax input into lobbying efforts organized by the American Chamber of Commerce and the Czech Venture Capital Association.

Mr. Zídek actively participates in the foreign direct investment practice.  Mr. Zídek has advised numerous foreign investors in connection with investment incentives issues in the Czech Republic in all stages of incentives projects.

Mr. Zídek has been providing tax advisory services to clients in the Czech Republic as well as abroad for more than 9 years.  He joined White & Case in 2002.  Prior to working in White & Case, Mr. Zídek worked in Arthur Andersen.
