Practice Experience
Belinda Zhang is an associate in White & Case's Beijing office. She has experience in the fields of asset finance, with a particular emphasis on the aviation industry and bank finance.

Belinda also has experience in corporate and commercial law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and corporate governance. Her experience covers an array of industry sectors including manufacturing, oil and gas, mining and metals and telecoms.

Belinda also has advised on a wide range of general corporate tax issues and tax issues in relation to mergers and acquisitions, cross-border structured financing transactions and corporate restructuring.

Belinda was previously based in White & Case's London office. Her prior experience also includes working for the New Zealand Inland Revenue and a leading Australian law firm.

Belinda's recent experience includes representing:
  • China Development Bank Hong Kong Branch as lender in various bilateral loans with internal guarantee structures.
  • China Development Bank in the US$86 million financing of pre-delivery payments and the US$272 million long term facility for AerCap in relation to four new Airbus A330 aircraft with deliveries scheduled in 2010 and 2011. This deal was awarded "European Deal of the Year 2009" by Airfinance Journal.
  • China Development Bank as sole lender or as a member of a syndicate of lenders in the negotiation and structuring of various aircraft operating lease transaction (loan amounts ranging from US$41 million to US$110 million each).
  • China Development Bank and Bank of China in a syndicated loan to Yangjiang Nuclear Power Company Limited to finance the construction of a nuclear power plant in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province, China.
  • China Development Bank, as lead arranger, in its RMB 4 billion syndicated financing to MTR Corporation (Shenzhen) Limited, for the construction of a subway line in Shenzhen.
  • A Japanese company with regard to its reorganization of a portfolio of investments consisting of UK companies.
  • An international steel company on its auction bid for mining assets in India.
  • A Saudi Arabian investor in relation to a joint venture and a portfolio of investments involving the Cayman Islands, Panama, the Netherlands, Spain and Argentina.
  • A private equity firm in its acquisition of a multinational packaging company.
  • An international mining company on its proposed IPO on the London Stock Exchange.
  • A Russian oil and gas company on its acquisition of an AIM-listed company.
