Practice Experience
Mr. Healy has over 30 years of experience as a trial and appellate lawyer representing clients in corporate and commercial litigation.  He has extensive experience in both federal and state courts and in arbitration.  Mr. Healy’s clients have included numerous entities engaged in the financial services and other industries and both domestic and foreign governments and governmental entities.

Mr. Healy has prosecuted and defended civil actions under the federal securities laws, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, various state business organizations statutes and a broad array of state common law and statutory theories. He has represented creditors in bankruptcy litigation, defended banks in lender liability actions and represented clients in civil antitrust actions and investigations. He has also appeared for governmental and private parties in litigation arising from foreign debt restructuring and involving the application of the Foreign Sovereign Immunity Act.  Mr. Healy advises clients on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and has conducted internal investigations with respect to FCPA issues.

In addition to his corporate and commercial practice, Mr. Healy has represented public and private entities in Native American land claim and related litigation which have resulted in recent groundbreaking Supreme Court and Second Circuit decisions in Native American land claim law.  He has also counseled clients concerning, and represented clients in litigation arising under, the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.

Among his recent cases are the following:
  • Representation of a hedge fund asserting individual and derivative claims against the general partner and affiliates of a Delaware limited partnership;
  • Representation of a foreign bank in multi-jurisdictional (US and non-US) litigation arising from the sale of derivative instruments;
  • Representation of foreign defendants in civil RICO actions; and
  • Advising and representing private and governmental clients in Native American land claim litigation.
