Practice Experience
Eric Laplante is a corporate finance partner in the Paris office, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and securities. He represents both French and international clients in commercial and corporate finance transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, IPOs, securities offerings and other stock exchange related operations, private equity (buy-ins and buy-outs), corporate reorganization and international joint ventures, involving both listed and non-listed companies.
Examples of representations:
Advising the largest independent French stockbroker in a joint venture with a major French bank including the outsourcing by the French bank of one of its core businesses.
Assisting a French major financial institution in various major developments abroad involving the acquisition of important stakes in companies listed on non-French stock exchanges.
Advising a large industrial group in its hostile public tender offer over a French listed company.
Advising a major French distribution group in a strategic alliance with one of its main competitors.
Advising a major US investment fund in the acquisition of the third largest duty free company in the world.
Disposal of the controlling shareholding of a large US investment fund in a listed Mexican company to a French company.
Representation of all financial investors, including large investment funds, in the prior complete restructuring, then initial public offering (on the
Premier Marché
of Euronext Paris Bourse) and finally secondary offering of a French company with an IPO value of €1,300,000,000.
Assistance to a large French bank in the disposal of a controlling participation in an oil & gas company.
