Euan Pinkerton is a partner in the Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance Group of the Riyadh office. Euan has considerable experience in the structuring of complex secured lending transactions (including structures for Sharī'a-compliant Islamic financings).
Transactional experience includes:

Representation of the European Investment Bank on the €1,007 million project financing of Phases 2 and 3 of the C-Power 325 MW offshore windfarm, off the Belgian coast (the largest financing in the offshore energy sector to date).

Representation of the lenders—Islamic Development Bank, Bank Al Jazira and Credit Suisse—in relation to the US$205 million debt financing, achieved on a Sharī'a-compliant basis, of the Hajj Terminal project at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Representation of the sponsors (Unión Fenosa and Eni) and the project company (Spanish Egyptian Gas Company SEGAS) on the US$1.02 billion refinancing on a project-financing basis of SEGAS, the owner of the Damietta LNG plant in Egypt. The refinancing consisted of a term-loan facility and a guarantee facility provided by over twenty international banks, together with a syndicated working capital facility. The Damietta LNG complex is one of the world's largest capacity single train LNG facilities.

Representation of the sponsor, Saudi Aramco, on all aspects of the project financing of the US$9.9 billion Rabigh refinery and petrochemical project in Saudi Arabia.

Representation, as common counsel, to JBIC and commercial bank lenders in connection with the construction-related aspects, including onshore and offshore pipelines of the US$20 billion financing of the Sakhalin II (Phase 2) integrated oil and gas project in Russia.

Representation of Egypt Basic Industries Corporation, S.A.E., a special purpose Egyptian project company, in connection with the development, construction and financing of a US$539 million project to produce 2,000 metric tons per day of anhydrous ammonia from natural gas feedstock at the Suez Industrial Area on the Gulf of Suez in Egypt.

Representation of the sponsors Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil Qatargas Inc., in relation to the arranging of financing for the US$11.2 billion Qatargas II project, which involves the construction of an LNG train in Qatar, the acquisition of tankers for the transportation of LNG from Qatar to the UK and the construction of an LNG receiving terminal in the UK.
