Practice Experience

Evgeny specializes in Russian general tax matters related to trading and production activities, transfer pricing and employment. He is particularly experienced in advising on various tax issues related to real estate projects, including the development of real estate property.

Evgeny’s recent work includes:

Advising WestGkA (West LB Group) on tax issues regarding the “Berlin House” building next to the Bolshoi Theatre;
Advising on various tax issues relating to production and trading activities, including customs law issues;
Advising on corporate tax and employment tax issues related to structuring an employee stock option plan for a Russian corporation, and the implementation of international stock options for Russian-based employees;
Advising on tax and currency control implications of intercompany debt financing;
Advising on Russian regional tax incentives and principals for tax allocation among regional branches;
Advising on various tax and customs law issues related to establishment and operations of diagnostic medical center, including importation of equipment, construction and governmental funding;
Advising on tax and customs incentives for producers of automobiles and their Russian-based suppliers; and
Advising on structuring transfer of production assets (share deal vs. asset deal) for sellers and buyers.

Before joining White & Case, Evgeny worked as a tax associate at a major international law firm, specializing in Russian tax matters related in particular to real estate transactions.
