Fabienne Vermeeren specializes in advising multinational corporations, trade associations and sovereign governments on EU trade and customs matters.  She  joined White & Case (then Forrester Norall & Sutton) in 1989.

Over the past fifteen years, Ms. Vermeeren has worked extensively on antidumping cases in the European Union, including the "Community interest" and injury aspects of numerous fertilizer cases, and the customs aspects of antidumping cases in various product sectors (e.g. classification and origin issues).

Ms. Vermeeren also frequently works on other trade and customs law issues, including classification and origin matters, as well as the EU's successive GSP regimes and Free Trade Agreements.  She actively monitors EU customs developments, including the adoption of security-related amendments and authorized economic operator status, as well as the ongoing modernization of the European Customs Code.  She was involved in drafting briefing papers for and lobbying Member States and the European Commission on the classification of a consumer electronic product under discussion in the EU Nomenclature Committee.

Ms. Vermeeren frequently contributes to published articles on trade-related issues.  In late 2005 she gave a detailed presentation on EU customs issues to an industrial association at a prestigious conference in Asia.  In early 2007, she spoke on the benefits of  revised EU preferential origin rules at an international customs compliance conference in Brussels. In late 2007 she also spoke at a seminar on supply chain security measures.
