Practice Experience
John Munnis is a senior associate in the Firm's Capital Markets Group in London. John is qualified to practice English and Canadian law and has a broad-based corporate finance practice. He has considerable experience in international equity and debt offerings and London listing work and has represented leading companies and investment banks in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Turkey and the Middle East. John joined White & Case in 2006 from a leading Canadian law firm where he practiced securities law, with a particular focus on equity financings and corporate transactions in the international mining industry. He has represented clients in public and private debt and equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings, corporate reorganisations and other corporate transactions. One highlight of his work recently has been the restructuring of approximately US$20 billion in liabilities of Alliance Bank and BTA Bank. These restructurings were recognised and enforced by the courts in London and New York and this work won the 'Legal Innovation in Financial Services' award at the 2009 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards.
