Practice Experience
Kerry Pettigrew is a senior associate in the London office of White & Case LLP, with over 14 years' experience in the field of banking and capital markets. Kerry specialises in structured finance and securitisations, including whole business, collateralised debt obligations, structured utility bonds, derivatives, project bonds, PFI, tax structuring, repackagings, straight debt, emerging markets and general capital markets work.

Kerry worked for a magic circle firm before spending two years as in-house counsel in the Global Markets Group at Deutsche Bank AG London, where he was the legal liaison to the asset swaps, leasing and repackaging desks. Kerry was also a member of the emerging markets legal group. Kerry joined White & Case LLP in 2005.

During 2008 Kerry was seconded to Goldman Sachs International as the desk lawyer on the loan funds desk.

Kerry has represented a number of collateral managers and financial institutions including Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs International, Citicorp, J.P. Morgan, Lloyds TSB, Royal Bank of Scotland, Babson Capital, Bank of America, Ixis and Morgan Stanley.

Representative transactions include:
  • Representing an oil services group on its debut issuance and private placement of US$260 million 12 per cent. Secured Guaranteed Amortising High Yield Bonds, the proceeds of which were used to fund the acquisition of drilling vessel ship and related equipment for drilling and operating wells offshore Venezuela.
  • Advising a major European bank on the novation of a portfolio of cross-currency swaps from a US financial institution.
  • Advising on the European security aspects of a major bond issue by a large US telecommunications company across fourteen jurisdictions.
  • Drafting the master issuance documentation with electable variables and structuring elements for Global Loan Opportunity Fund B.V. Secured Note Programme.
  • Advising various collateral managers and arrangers on both market value and cashflow collateralised debt obligation transactions, including Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch in connection with Eurocredit Opportunities I PLC (awarded Deal of the Year) and CELF Europe Credit Partners PLC, IXIS in connection with Rockall CLO B.V. and Indicus in connection with Queen Street CLOs.
