Practice Experience
Koji Yamamoto joined White & Case in January 2005. He received his bachelor degree from the University of Western Ontario, and his LLB from the University of Toronto and has also studied at the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo for two years. Mr. Yamamoto is an associate in the Tokyo Financial Services Group of the Tokyo office of White & Case where he primarily works in the investment funds and regulatory practice.
As part of his investment funds practice, Mr. Yamamoto has assisted on the structuring, formation and organization of numerous investment funds including both private equity funds and hedge funds. Furthermore, Mr. Yamamoto has significant experience in representing institutional investors in various types of investment funds as well representing fund managers in the registration of their funds for distribution in Japan. His clients include domestic trust banks, financial institutions, private firms, and investment managers.
In connection with his regulatory practice, Mr. Yamamoto has prepared numerous memorandums on Japanese capital market regulations including the financial instruments and exchange law, the investment trust and investment companies law and the laws regarding the short selling of securities.
Mr. Yamamoto is a member of the New York State Bar and is fluent in both English and Japanese.
