Practice Experience
Ms. Leali joined White & Case in 2000 and is a senior associate in the Firm’s Global Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group. She regularly represents debtors, unsecured creditors committees, bondholders committees, strategic and financial investors in a wide variety of industries and market sectors, and has experience in mergers and acquisitions—having represented a number of sellers both in and out of court in transactions involving a wide range of industries.
Ms. Leali was the lead restructuring associate in the Firm’s representation of Appaloosa Management, one of the largest shareholders of Delphi Corporation, in its successful bid to obtain relief directing the formation of an official equity committee in the case. She was also a key member of the lead debtors' counsel team in the successful chapter 11 reorganization of Mirant Corporation— involving more than US $10 billion in debt and considered the largest bankruptcy filing in the US in 2003 and the 10th largest bankruptcy filing in US history. Most recently, Ms. Leali was involved as the lead associate in the out-of-court sale of Lund International, Inc, a manufacturer of aftermarket auto parts.
White & Case's Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Group is nationally recognized as preeminent and a leader in the field. Ms. Leali was part of the Americas team that received the "Restructuring Team of the Year" award from IFLR in 2006.
