Practice Experience

Lorraine Ufland has a wide range of experience working in all areas of commercial real estate with an emphasis on the acquisition disposal and letting of investment properties in the industrial retail and office sectors, the forward fundings of developments, joint ventures, the property aspects of corporate acquisitions, disposals, refinancings of real estate portfolios and the coordination and running of large teams involved in the purchasing, disposal and securitisation of properties in the leisure sector.

Lorraine joined White & Case in September 2003 from Lawrence Graham.

Recent representations in real estate:

Acting for Wells Fargo, Piper Jaffray and Hess Limited in connection with leasing arrangements at their headquarters.
Acting for Doughty Hanson real estate opportunity fund in relation to a US$250m real estate acquisition of 20 office buildings at Kings Hill Business Park, Kent, England. The deal was structured as a joint venture with Liberty Property Limited Partnership using a Jersey Property Unit Trust.
Acting for Doughty Hanson & Co Real Estate, one of the largest European real estate fund managers, and Liberty Property Trust, a US based REIT, on their joint venture acquisition of Blythe Valley Park Solihull, UK, from The British Land Company PLC for up to US$320 million.
Doughty Hanson & Co Real Estate, one of the largest European real estate fund managers, in connection with a joint venture and acquisition of 1 Howick Place, London for approximately US$120m.
Acting for Quinlan Private in connection with the acquisition of a large multi-tenanted office premises at Marlow International, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, UK for US$150m.
