Practice Experience
Magnus Wennerhorn heads the Banking and Capital Markets practice at the Stockholm office. His focus is on leveraged finance and financial restructurings although he has experience in a wide range of finance transactions, including real property finance and investment grade lending.

Magnus has participated in numerous top tier acquisition finance transactions and complex cross-border financings and financial restructurings over the last ten years, representing Swedish and foreign banks, private equity clients and corporate clients. His recent experience at White & Case includes finance transactions for Nordea Bank, Swedbank, DnB NOR Bank, HSH Nordbank, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Nordic Capital and SSAB and financial restructurings for senior lenders, mezzanine lenders and investors.

Prior to joining White & Case in 2005, Magnus worked for a Swedish firm in which he was a senior associate in the bank finance department. He has also practiced with a leading London law firm.

Representative transactions include:
  • Acting for Nordea Bank AB (publ) as mandated lead arranger in connection with senior debt facilities provided for the purposes of EQT's acquisition of AcadeMedia AB (publ), a publicly-listed company and Sweden's largest provider of private education services.
  • Acted for SSAB Svensk Stål AB (publ) in connection with their USD 8.8 billion acquisition facilities and several other bilateral and syndicated investment grade loan facilities during 2007, 2008 and 2009.
  • Acted for Nordea Bank and Goldman Sachs in connection with the SEK 10.6 billion leverage finance facilities in relation to Com Hem.
  • Acted for the lenders in various financial restructurings, security enforcements, bankruptcy proceedings and company reconstructions.
  • Acted for the investors in connection with various financial restructurings.
