Nicholas provides employee benefits and pensions advice and has had experience in a broad range of matters for clients of all sizes, from technology start-ups to global investment banks.
As co-leader of the firm's Global Equity Based Compensation practice, Nicholas advises clients from various jurisdictions on the design and international implementation of equity and cash-based incentive plans. This work involves investigation and analysis of the securities, tax, foreign exchange, employment, data privacy and e-commerce issues clients may encounter in each country where they operate their plans.
Nicholas has handled the incentives and pensions aspects of a variety of major corporate transactions, including advising on UK pensions issues in the context of large leveraged buyouts and setting up new equity incentive plans in preparation for a number of high-profile IPOs.
Nicholas is a main board Director of the Global Equity Organisation and a member of Global Stock Plans Task Force of the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals. He is also a committee member of Share Plan Lawyers and an associate member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers. He regularly speaks at external seminars and conferences.
