Overview

Artem Doudko is an English solicitor-advocate in the London Dispute Resolution Practice. Artem specialises in international arbitration with a focus on advising Russian-speaking clients. Artem works for a broad spectrum of international clients, both high-net worth individuals and multinational corporate entities. Advising on a wide range of jurisdictional and conflict of law issues Artem has experience of investment as well as commercial arbitrations conducted in accordance with the rules of LCIA, ICC, AAA, SCC, and ad hoc arbitrations. Artem also has significant experience of litigation in the English courts, in particular, in matters related to arbitration.

Artem is Vice-Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Young Members Group of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the Young Members Group representative of the London Branch of CIArb and a Fellow of the CIArb.

Artem is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars in London, Moscow, St Petersburg, Kiev, Almaty, Astana, Minsk, Stockholm, Rome, Milan, Warsaw, Istanbul and New York on various topics relating to English law and international arbitration. He has also given lectures on English law at the Moscow State University and the Moscow State Law Academy.

Experience

Advised two well-known Russian groups on anti-suit injunction proceedings in London to prevent a New York action being progressed in breach of an arbitration agreement.

Advised a Russian party on an investment arbitration under SCC rules against an Eastern European state, including a successful application for emergency relief from an emergency arbitrator.

Advised a major Russian bank in a US$ multimillion-dollar fraud claim involving proceedings and ancillary measures in a number of jurisdictions.

Advised Victor Pinchuk and East One on claims for loss of profits and dividends arising out of the operation and management of a ferroalloy holding in the Ukraine and a claim for breach of an obligation to transfer shares in a Ukrainian iron ore plant.

Advised a challenge to the jurisdiction of the English courts on behalf of a BVI company with Ukrainian owners.
