Overview

Benjamin Bierwirth is an associate in the Firm's Capital Markets group in London and concentrates on securities transactions and corporate finance, with a particular emphasis on high-yield debt offerings.

Experience

Bank of America Merrill Lynch which acted as the sole bookrunner and lead manager in connection with Helios Towers Nigeria Limited’s issuance of US$250m 8.375% guaranteed senior notes due 2019. FCMB and Standard Bank acted as the co-managers.

Citigroup which acted as the lead manager in connection with BAE Systems Holdings’ issuance of US$800m 3.8% guaranteed notes due 2024 and US$300m 4.75% guaranteed notes due 2044. Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs acted as the co-managers.

Boparan, the holding company of the 2 Sisters Food Group (a British food manufacturing company), in connection with its issuance of £250m 5.25% senior notes due 2019, £330m 5.50% senior notes due 2021 and €300m 4.375% senior notes due 2021 used to fund a tender offer to repurchase existing notes.

Goldman Sachs International, UBS Investment Bank, Natixis and Société Générale as the joint bookrunners on HOLDIKKS S.A.S’s issuance of €320 million of senior secured notes, used to fund the €492m takeover of IKKS, the French clothes retailer. Goldman Sachs and UBS acted as co-managers.

Waste Italia S.p.A., the Italian waste management company, in connection with its issuance of Rule 144A/Reg S €200m 10.5% Senior Secured Notes. Jefferies International Limited acted as sole bookrunning manager.
