Calvin Cheng advises clients in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions across multiple industries including software, financial services, semiconductors, internet, life sciences, and renewable energy.
Calvin has represented technology companies at all stages of development, through private financings, strategic transactions, and mergers and acquisitions, including companies that have been sold to Google and Ariba, Inc. and companies that have completed financings with Sequoia Capital (China) and Carlyle. He has also represented investors, including Steamboat Ventures, Qiming Venture Partners, Orchid Asia Group, DCM, DT Ventures, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, in numerous private financings of emerging growth companies and in the sale or IPOs of their portfolio companies.
In addition, Calvin has advised U.S. and international clients on a variety of corporate and securities matters, including periodic reporting under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, compliance with SEC, NYSE, and NASDAQ rules and regulations, public offerings, and corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining White & Case, Calvin practiced as a transactional attorney in the Los Angeles and Beijing offices of a global law firm. He has served as a board member of the Weingart - East Los Angeles YMCA since 2010.
