Notable deals in these areas include the financing of the Panda Temple I power project, which was awarded "2012 Americas Power Deal of the Year" by Project Finance International, and "2012 North American Merchant Power Deal of the Year" by Project Finance magazine.
Elena's cutting-edge approach to deal structure enables her to develop innovative solutions to help clients achieve their objectives. In addition to her track record in project finance, she has advised on the structuring of hybrid terminal B deals with project finance-style transactions. She also brings knowledge and insight to clients seeking advice on structured finance deals.
Elena represented her clients as joint lead arrangers in connection with the project financing of Panda Power Funds' planned US$652 million, 829 megawatt natural gas-fired, combined-cycle Patriot generating station being developed in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. When completed, the Patriot project will be the second new power plant on the Marcellus Shale gas formation, after Panda's Liberty power plant. The Panda Patriot transaction was the fifth financing of a power plant by Panda Power Funds within a 17-month period.
Elena represented her clients as joint lead arrangers in connection with the project financing of Moxie Energy's planned 829 MW natural gas-fired generating station being developed in Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
Elena advised Morgan Stanley as joint lead arranger in connection with the financing of the 758 MW natural gas-fired, combined-cycle Panda Temple I power project being developed in Temple, Texas. This project was selected as the "2012 Americas Power Deal of the Year" by Project Finance International magazine, and (along with the Panda Sherman project) as "2012 North American Merchant Power Deal of the Year" by Project Finance magazine.
Elena represented her clients as mandated lead arrangers in connection with the financing of a 758 MW natural gas-fired power project being developed in Sherman, Texas. This transaction, along with the Panda Temple I project, was selected as "2012 North American Merchant Power Deal of the Year" by Project Finance magazine.
Elena represented a consortium of lenders in connection with the Post Rock project involving the financing of a 201 MW wind farm in Kansas.
Elena represented her clients as the mandated lead arrangers and lenders in connection with the US$688 million project financing for the development, construction, operation and management of a 550 MW combined cycle power plant being developed by NRG Energy, Inc. on a site in El Segundo, California. Southern California Edison will purchase power produced by the plant under a 10-year power purchase agreement.
