Biography

Overview

Eric Urschel is a partner in the Firm's Tax Group focusing on domestic and international tax law.  He regularly advises clients on the formation and operation of investment funds and joint ventures and regularly works on mergers, acquisitions, tax-free reorganizations and other cross-border tax matters.

Eric further advises clients on U.S. tax issues relating to partnerships, REITs, FIRPTA, sovereign and sovereign-related investors, controlled foreign corporations, FATCA, tax treaties and other matters.

Eric received his JD and LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as a Senior Editor on The Tax Lawyer.  Prior to law school, Eric worked as a staff member for a committee in the United States Senate and at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.
