Heather Clark is an associate in White & Case's London office, where her practice focuses on international arbitration. Heather has previously worked in White & Case's New York and Paris offices.

Heather practices in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration. Heather has a background in engineering, with a focus on technology used in telecommunications applications. Her engineering experience enables her to quickly understand complex technical matters.

Prior to joining White & Case, Heather was an Assistant Legal Counsel at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, where she provided support to several arbitrations involving States, private parties, and intergovernmental organisations, primarily under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.

Heather is qualified as a patent agent in Canada and worked for several years at a leading Canadian intellectual property law firm in Ottawa, Canada.  She has also provided assistance on intellectual property matters to the Kingdom of Cambodia relating to implementation of the TRIPS Agreement.

Heather also maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on immigration matters, human rights, and public international law.

ICC arbitration Nuclear Power Plant, Europe

Advising a European owner / operator in arbitration proceedings related to the design and construction of a nuclear power plant.

ICC arbitration major infrastructure project, North Africa

Advising a consortium of international foreign contractors in ICC arbitration proceedings related to a major infrastructure project.

ICSID arbitrations

Provided legal research and drafting assistance in two ICSID arbitrations (Karmer v. Geogia and Vigotop v. Hungary).

Hatch-Waxman patent litigation

Represented a prominent pharmaceutical company in several Hatch-Waxman patent disputes with generic manufacturer defendants.

Pro Bono

Pro bono work in the areas of juvenile immigration, asylum, human rights, and public international law.
