Overview

Janko Lindros is a Helsinki-based partner in our M&A practice. He has extensive experience in complex multi-jurisdictional transactions and divestments involving industrial clients, private equity sponsors and emerging companies. He has managed numerous cross-border transactions in multiple jurisdictions across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Janko joined the Firm in 2002, and worked at the Stockholm office from 2003 to 2004, and again in 2012. Prior to joining White & Case, Janko worked as an in-house lawyer and at another law firm in Helsinki.

Experience

Tencent US$8.6 billion acquisition of Supercell Oy equity securities, 2016

Janko advised Supercell Oy, a Finnish mobile games company, and the management/founding team, in the acquisition by Tencent Holdings Limited, one of China's largest and most used internet portals, of approximately 84.3% of Supercell equity securities for a consideration of US$8.6 billion, with put and call options for the rest of the equity securities over a four-year period.

Metso Corporation €340 million sale of Its process automation systems business to Valmet Corporation, 2015

Janko advised Metso Corporation, a global supplier of technology and services to the mining, oil and gas and aggregates industries, on the €340 million sale of its process automation systems business to Valmet Corporation, a leading global developer and supplier of services and technologies for the pulp, paper and energy industries.

ABB divestment of Full Service business to Nordic Capital, 2014

Janko advised ABB Group, the leading power and automation technology group, on the divestment of its full service business to Nordic Capital Fund VIII. ABB Full Service is the leader in industrial maintenance outsourcing services in Europe, with a particularly strong position in the Nordics and a global presence. Janko worked closely with an international team of the Firm's lawyers drawn from Helsinki, Paris and London, and assisted by other lawyers from the Firm's worldwide network of offices.
