Joanne Turner is an associate in the Firm's Global Intellectual Property practice.
She advises on contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters, including trade mark, copyright, domain name and confidentiality issues as well as the intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions and the securitisation of intellectual property portfolios. Joanne also counsels on information technology matters, a wide range of commercial agreements and data protection.
Joanne joined White & Case in February 2015 from another leading law firm, where she was an associate in the Intellectual Property & Technology team.
Advised a major global bank in connection with various licensing, sourcing and other commercial contracts, including for the supply of software and training services.
Advised various clients, including in the technology, automotive and defence and sectors, on agency and introduction agreements.*
Advised clients in various sectors, including retail and automotive, on both UK and international standard terms and conditions of sale and purchase of goods and/or services.*
Advised various clients, including pension trustee clients, on compliance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998, including review of relevant contractual arrangements and advising on cross border data transfers.
Acted for a leading provider of care manuals in its successful application for summary judgement in IPEC in relation to a copyright infringement claim.*
Drafted an application and witness statement to contest jurisdiction in an unjustified threats action in IPEC.*
