Overview

Jon Bowden is a Local Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity practice group.

Jon represents private equity firms and other financial sponsors, together with corporates and banks, on a variety of cross-border private and public M&A transactions, joint ventures and corporate finance transactions.

Prior to working in Singapore, Jon spent time working in both Moscow and London, where his experience included advising on a number of UK capital markets transactions, including the FTSE 100 listings of EVRAZ plc, Fresnillo plc and Hochschild Mining plc.

PT XL Axiata, an Indonesian telecommunications operator, on its US$267 million sale and leaseback of 2,500 telecoms towers to PT Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Protelindo).

Brenntag, the global market leader in chemical distribution headquartered in Germany, on its acquisition of the TAT Group, the Singapore-based distributor for industrial chemicals.

Barings Private Equity Asia on its investment in Cath Kidston Group Limited.*

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan on its investment in Garena Interactive Holdings Limited.*

Standard Chartered Private Equity on various transactions and joint ventures in a number of Asian and African jurisdictions.*

A broad range of Indonesian banking issues, including advising Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation on its US$1.5 billion acquisition of 40% of PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN), Indonesia's seventh largest bank, from sellers including TPG.*
