A former chair of the ABA Section of Antitrust Law, Joseph is recognized as one of the leading antitrust lawyers in the United States by directories including Who’s Who Legal, Chambers USA, and Woodward/White’s Best Lawyers in America.

Overview

Joseph advises clients on a wide range of antitrust matters. He helps them to navigate the intricate details of competition law across multiple territories as they undertake significant transactions, are subject to action or are undergoing investigation. His attention to detail and breadth of knowledge have helped to dismiss several high-profile antitrust actions, allowing his clients to emerge successfully from investigation.

With over 35 five years of experience in antitrust law, Joseph is recognized as one of the leading antitrust lawyers in the United States. He has counseled and represented clients across a variety of industries, including the automobile, pharmaceutical, financial services and semiconductor sectors. He has also litigated jury and non-jury cases before federal and state courts and has handled administrative matters before the Federal Trade Commission.

His extensive experience was also recognized when the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission requested that he serve as an advisor to the International Competition Network, the organization of the world's antitrust enforcement agencies.

Prior to becoming the Chair of the ABA's Section of Antitrust Law in 2007, Joseph served as the principal editor of Antitrust Law Developments, the Section's principal treatise on antitrust law. He has written or edited over 40 antitrust books and articles.

As well as his work with the ABA, Joseph served on the Executive Committee of the Legal Aid Society for almost a decade. He is also a Fellow of the American Bar Association and a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Joseph sits within the Firm’s Global Antitrust and Competition Group, an integrated worldwide team of over 180 lawyers advising clients on the increasingly global competitive issues which they face.
