Overview

Laurence is an associate in the Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance Group in London. He has substantial experience in acting for leading corporate sponsors, major financial institutions, export credit agencies and multilateral development organisations in connection with complex multijurisdictional high-stake financing and refinancing transactions. Laurence joined the Firm in 2012 and was previously an associate at another international law firm.

Experience

Representing Ruwais Power Company PJSC and its sponsors (Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC, Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority, International Power S.A., Marubeni Corporation, and Osaka Gas Co., Ltd) on the inaugural issuance of US $825 million Senior Secured Bonds and the related refinancing of the US $2.3 billion Shuweihat 2 IWPP – this transaction represents the first project bond offering by an independent power and water project in the Middle East.

Representing STEAG GmbH in connection with the financing of the development of the Crucea North 108 MW wind farm project in Romania.

Representing EBRD in connection with various financing transactions pursuant to EBRD's Trade Facilitation Programme.

Representing the borrower in connection with an EBRD financing of the acquisition of equipment for regional broadband and data centre infrastructure development in Kazakhstan.

Representing the arrangers in connection with the existing €395 million facilities sponsored by KKR, particularly their syndication, including the preparation of a syndication term sheet and dealing with documentary queries from potential syndicate members; and the exercise of Market Flex provisions and the consequent amendment of the relevant facilities agreement and intercreditor agreement.
