Marie Georgy is an associate in our Corporate and M&A practice, with a particular focus on private equity, currently on a 12 months' secondment in the private equity practice of our London office.

Prior to joining White & Case, she worked for over two years at one of the top independent law firms of Belgium in the Belgian business law practice. She has experience in domestic and cross-border M&A, private equity transactions, restructuring operations, corporate management, insolvency, corporate litigation (shareholders' disputes) and corporate law issues in general.

She is a native French speaker and speaks English and Dutch fluently.

Cobepa and Kanelium Invest on the sale of SGG group, to Astorg Partners. SGG Group is a leading independent trust service provider providing tailor-made services for corporate and institutional clients. This transaction is a perfect example of the strong relationship we build with our clients. We advised Cobepa on its acquisition of SGG, then SGG itself on a number of external growth projects, and now we have advised our client on the next phase in SGG's development.

The privately-owned investment and private banking institution Bank Degroof on its merger with the independent investment firm Petercam. The transaction was one of the highest profile mergers of 2015 in the Belgian market and resulted in Belgium's first independent private bank, with €42 billion of assets under management and 1,400 employees.

PQ Licensing, the owner of the service marks and trademarks "Le Pain Quotidien", with respect to the constitution of PQLB SA and the conclusion of license agreements in order to open new veggie restaurants named "Le Botaniste".

Cobepa, one of the leading Belgian private equity firms, on its acquisition of Exclusive Networks group, the specialist provider of security, networking, infrastructure and storage solutions for technology vendors from around the world, from Omnes Capital.
