Patrik has been active in the MENA region since 2006, and has advised on all aspects of corporate finance with a particular focus on cross border mergers and acquisitions and international joint ventures (both MENA inward and MENA outbound). Patrik's clients include a variety of financial institutions, family offices, corporates and sovereign wealth funds. Patrik has particular experience in the medical, hospitality and entertainment, real estate and telecom sectors.
Patrik studied Law and Economics at the University of Durham, before obtaining his Legal Practice Certificate from Nottingham Law School. Prior to joining White & Case LLP, Patrik worked at a leading UK law firm in their London, Singapore, Bahrain, Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices. Patrik has also spent time on secondment with Dubai World, Flash Entertainment and more recently at a development and investment vehicle of the Abu Dhabi Government.
Patrik represented a hospital and clinic owner and operator with respect to its acquisition of a UAE based medical facility and its joint ventures with strategic partners to develop day care and cosmetic surgeries.
Patrik represented the stakeholders of a world wide mobile virtual network operator in connection with their proposed sale of their business.
Patrik represented an Abu Dhabi government entity in its partnership with a world class entertainment company in relation to constructing, operating and managing a theme park and a hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Patrik represented a leading Japanese trading company on the purchase of a minority stake in an oil and gas tubular goods supplier headquartered in the UAE (with global operations).
Patrik represented Theodore Wille Intertrade on the purchase of Safar Offshore and Onshore Oil Field Services, an Abu Dhabi based Company with operations in the Middle East and Central Asia.
Patrik represented Dhabi Group, a family office in the sale of Warid Telecom Uganda Limited and Warid Congo S.A both of which were telecom companies operating in Uganda and the Republic of Congo (respectively) to Bharti Airtel, a rival operator.
Patrik represented a sovereign wealth fund on the sale of its minority stake in a mining company in Kazakhstan.
Patrik represented an Abu Dhabi based development company in its partnership with two world class hotel operators in connection with the construction and management of luxury hotels in Abu Dhabi.
