Peter is an associate in our Corporate/M&A practice and focuses on energy and natural resource law and has significant experience in subsoil use rights and environmental regulations. Peter advises clients primarily in the oil & gas and mining and metals sectors. He has been involved in providing advice on aspects of environmental law on a major project financing and also has experience in M&A, joint ventures and other corporate matters.

Experience

Advising Independent Petroleum Company (IPC) on the establishment of a joint venture with Alliance Group (Alliance), a leading independent oil and gas player with vertically integrated operations in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, and the subsequent buyout by IPC of the counterparty's interest in the JV.

Advising Hess Corporation on an agreement with OAO LUKOIL to sell 100 per cent of its Russian subsidiary Samara-Nafta for a total consideration of US$2.05 billion.

Advising AAR Consortium formed by three of Russia's leading investment, financial and industrial groups (Alfa Group, Access Industries and Renova) on the US$28 billion sale of its 50 percent stake in TNK- BP, a leading Russian oil company and one of the world's top ten privately-owned oil companies in the world, to Rosneft, an oil and gas exploration and production company listed in Russia.

Advising TNK-BP in connection with the disposal of Novosibirskneftegaz and sale of a 71.09 percent stake in Severnoeneftegaz, the Russia based companies engaged in development of oil fields and oil extraction, to a group of Russian and foreign investors owning assets in the Russian oil and gas industry.

Advising Unicor, a managing company, in connection with the US$982.5 million sale of its Russia-based real estate assets to BIN Group, which include Sadovye Kvartaly elite residential area property, the Lux Hotel project, a multi-purpose complex Summit, including A-class business centre, retail space and hotel InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya, and a 8.8 hectares land of RTI Kauchuk in Ochakovo.
