Overview

Acclaimed corporate and finance lawyer Sharon Hartline offers clients the benefit of more than 20 years' practice experience. She has spent the majority of this time in Asia, working in the areas of private equity, private investment funds, corporate and finance work.

She has helped sponsors in Asia to set up various types of private equity funds, including traditional, distressed debt, real estate and secondary opportunity funds, hybrid funds, hedge funds and fund of funds. Investors in such funds have included US tax exempt, US state pension plan and ERISA investors, as well as various non-US HNW individual and institutional investors.

Sharon has advised clients from the United States, Europe and Asia, on their investments in private investment funds focused on the Asian region. She has also counseled hedge fund managers and private equity funds on various complex US and HK regulatory issues, including licensing and registration matters. In addition, she has represented international funds in numerous investment and finance transactions.

Ranked as a leading lawyer by Chambers Asia-Pacific 2016 and Chambers Global 2016, one of Sharon's clients is quoted as saying that she is "a great relationship partner and a very experienced funds attorney."
