Tim Jeffares specializes in debt finance transactions, ranging from syndicated loan transactions, leveraged acquisitions and real estate finance, to financing the development of energy and infrastructure assets and aircraft finance. He also has extensive debt restructuring experience, both in an Asian and European context.

Mr. Jeffares was previously a partner at a Magic Circle law firm. In addition to many years of experience in Japan, Mr. Jeffares has been based in Hong Kong, Thailand, Germany and London.

Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Mizuho Bank in connection with EUR 1.28 billion financing provided to the LIXIL Corporation for the purchase of the Grohe group assets in Europe and the subsidiary Joyou group assets in mainland China.

BNP Paribas Tokyo Branch, as arranger, agent and initial lender, and Mizuho Bank, Ltd., Shinsei Bank Ltd., The Bank of Yokohama Ltd., and Aozora Bank, Ltd. as initial lenders of a JPY2.2 billion guaranteed syndicated term loan to Permelec Electrode Ltd., a Japanese company which engages in metal electrodes and related devices and appliances business.

Jefferies Finance LLC in its financing a US$250 million term loan facility to Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a global biopharmaceutical company, to acquire R-Tech Ueno, a Japanese pharmaceutical company through public tender offer.

Citibank, Deutsche Bank and Mizuho Corporate Bank as the mandated lead arrangers in the JPY1.4 trillion whole business securitization by Softbank Mobile Corp, a Japanese telecommunications service provider. He also advised on the preceding bridge acquisition financing for Softbank relating to its acquisition of Vodafone's Japan mobile phone business.*
